Job Summary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of university and TBR policies and procedures. Knowledge of budget maintenance. Knowledge of university academic and administrative structures. Ability to effectively analyze and evaluate a variety of detailed data. Ability to use Microsoft Office products and administrative information systems (FRS, HRS, SIS) Ability to work independently and under pressure. Ability to delegate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively with students and employees. Demonstrated ability to learn new software applications. Experience with Microsoft Office suite of software. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with various constituencies.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; experience with university administrative systems highly preferred, three to five years experience in an academic setting preferred; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty
  • Manages budget for the student affairs office.
  • Supports Student Activities Allocations Process.
  • Takes Student Affairs Council minutes.
  • Maintains departmental webpage.
  • Processes student travel and other projects funded by the student 606 fund.
  • Assists in preparation and planning of departmental budgets.
  • Recruits interviews, hires and supervises student workers.
  • Serves as back-up receptionist.
  • Initiates reports and correspondence requiring administrative action; edits and assembles reports and publications.
  • Prepares data concerning complaints/problems for referral to Senior Associate Vice President.
  • Processes requisitions and invoices for payment.
  • Maintains payroll for student affairs office and student government association.
  • Processes confidential material: grades, job audits, salaries and evaluations.
  • Assists Associate Vice President and the Director of Multicultural Affairs with clerical duties.
  • Interprets, applies and maintains policies and procedures.
  • Serves as liaison between the senior associate vice president, various departments, groups and individuals.
