Job Summary

Proficient in organizing and prioritizing assignments in a fast paced work environment; coordinating the front office, including management of multi-line telephone system/greeting all incoming visitors; processing payroll; distributing all incoming mail; processing paperwork to hire all temporary personnel and student workers; responding to Go2ETSU e-mails; supervising student workers/graduate assistants as assigned; assisting office coordinator; serving as a member of Spring and Fall Open House planning team; organizing welcome tables for spring and fall; and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED plus one (1) year of clerical or secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; excellent customer service skills. Experience working with computer and word processing systems with ability to learn new applications.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty
  • Report to the Office Coordinator who reports to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Services.
  • Coordinate the activities for the Admissions Communication Center.
  • Greets visitors, staff, students, and faculty providing appropriate information for their business or directs persons to proper office and resources, in a manner that promotes a welcoming atmosphere to the students and visitors to the office. Establishes rapport and maintains professional and friendly interaction with visitors and students.
  • Communicate with sensitivity in all situations.
  • Answer multi-line telephone giving appropriate information to callers and routing other calls to appropriate person/office.
  • Read and determines disposition of incoming correspondence, reports, and other information.
  • Supervise student worker to include coordinating and maintaining their personal files, work schedules, assuring office coverage and overseeing of assigned tasks. Evaluate student workers along with Office Coordinator.
  • Multitask in fast faced high traffic office. Project a helpful and positive attitude to provide support to all students and visitors.
  • Maintain compliance with regard to all ETSU policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and basic office equipment.
  • Detail oriented

  • Respond to email inquiries sent to Go2ETSU.
  • Addressing routine questions and coordinating workflow to appropriate personnel;
  • Composes routine correspondence and schedules appointments, meetings, etc.
  • Collect timesheets and enter payroll for Admissions and Enrollment Services directors.
