Job Summary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of musical terminology. Knowledge of area school bands. Knowledge of computer skills, Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to speak with prospective students and make them welcome. Ability to listen and offer support to students.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and three years secretarial office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office; and ability to communicate effectively

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty

-Maintains records on current band students. -Maintains records on prospective band students.
-Maintains open communication with area band directors.
-Maintains scholarship records for current and prospective students.
-Maintains band budgets.
-Trains student workers to use various office equipment and procedures of the band department.
-Communicates with Culp Center personnel regarding band events in the Culp.
-Prepared work orders for equipment moves.
-Maintains locker lists.
-Maintains band instrument inventory.
-Maintains APS time sheets for band.

Description of Job Duty

-Assists with departmental office duties in the absence of the executive aide.
-Helps coordinate any travel done by Marching Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Buccaneer Brass and Basketball band.
-Serve as chaperone/van driver on trips taken by the Marching Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Buccaneer Brass Basketball Band.
-Helps with organization of the annual Senior High School Honor Band Festival.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
