Job Summary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of ETSU and library policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of financial and budgeting procedures.
  • Knowledge of office skills and procedures.
  • Knowledge of standard computer and software packages (Microsoft Word and Excel preferred).
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form, in electronic and print formats.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all duties.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma and two years of office experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred; library experience preferred.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty
  • Submits time reports for faculty and staff and bi-monthly reports for student assistants and temporary staff.
  • Certifies work and leave accuracy.
  • Notifies Human Resources and Financial Aid of discrepancies and adjustments; prepares and distributes timesheets.
  • Maintains leave calendar for all library permanent employees.
  • Coordinates placement of student workers managed within 3 program budgets; maintains work records; serves as liaison between students, supervisors, and Financial Aid.
  • Verifies and approved invoices for copy machines in the library offices; serves as primary key operator/vendor liaison for copiers; maintains copy paper and toner supplies.
  • Assigns lockers to graduate students and adjunct faculty per library guidelines.
  • Collects deposits from library cash register and prepares deposit form for Comptroller’s Office; maintains statistics for varying revenue sources; makes other deposits as assigned.
  • Serves as petty cash custodian.
  • Maintains building key inventory for assignments to library faculty/staff and other building personnel.
  • Assists with coordinating and planning events.
  • Coordinates guest lists, invitations, arrangements for food service, menu planning, name tags, staffing.
  • Maintains budgets for special events.
  • Purchases branded items for library distribution, assuring logo and brand identity compliance.
