Job Summary

Employees in this class are under general supervision in the Mini Dome. Sweeps, mops, and buffs stairs, corridors and floors throughout athletic facilities; vacuums and cleans carpets; washes windows, polishes furniture, and cleans woodwork; picks up paper and debris on ground; empties trash cans and cleans containers; cleans bathroom walls, floors and fixtures and replenishes bathroom supplies; performs all set ups and tear downs of all events in athletic facilities; performs cleaning task for all athletic facilities i.e. soccer stadium, baseball, softball; provide Fire Watch duties as required; sets up and clean up of projects and events such as workshops, athletic events, concerts, and registration; operate fork lift truck in a safe manner; install basketball floor, tarps, and chairs as required; and performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to interpret oral and written directions in English; Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Ability to perform all duties in compliance with all applicable safety codes. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationsip with other employees. Ability to design, estimate and inspect projects. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions. Ability to work in cramped, dirty, and uncomfortable situations. Ability to complete operational forms and work records (work orders and building inspection forms) Ability to work with various software on the computer: Word, Outlook, Excel. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to schedule equipment and personnel transfer related to building occupants. Knowledge of methods, materials, and procedures used in building repair and maintenance work. KNowledge of machines, tools, and equipment used in a variety of maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing and air conditioning. Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision. Ability to assign, supervise and inspect the work of others. Ability to use and operate a variety of tools and equipment required in the performance of duties. Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. HVAC technical school, certified apprentice program or other maintenance related training. 5 years experience. EPA refridgerant license within 1 year of appointment.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Coordinates work schedules and assignments of custodial crew.

Performs maintenance work on electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning systems, carpentry and other maintenance related items.

Schedules work with billing occupants.

Responsible for the opening and closing of the building.

Primary responsibility for all facility related functions, repairs and renovations.

Keeps records of scheduled preventive maintenance and non-scheduled repair work.

Requisitions parts, supplies, and equipment.

Performs other work as assigned.
