Job Summary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities. Ability to work effectively with a large number of both traditional and adult students having diverse backgrounds, faculty, and other administrative staff. Knowledge of academic advisement process and ETSU admissions policies. Ability to analyze transcripts. Knowledge of the B.S. Online Degree Completion Program relative to course specific requirements and course substitutions for each individual discipline and the RODP Program. Ability to assist students with specific issues or questions and resolve problems in a helpful and timely fashion in order to enhance the student’s overall academic experience while enrolled in the B.S. Online Degree Completion Program. Proficient in the use of Banner INB, Self-Service and academic record maintenance. Proficient in the use of computers. Knowledge of SIS.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty

Provides program information and ETSU admission information to applicants and student inquiries.

Processes applications ensuring compliance with ETSU admissions guidelines and monitors applicant numbers.

Initiates follow-up contact with prospective students prior to transcript evaluation.

Generates transcripts, student course schedules and other student records utilizing Banner system.

Assists students with online applications, program enrollment and registration process.

Evaluates transcripts for incoming B.S. Online Completion students (RADT, CPSC, Leadership).

Assists students with selection of online major.

Emails completed advisement information for student review.

Discusses results of transcript evaluation with student via telephone advisement.

Advises new students of admissions procedures and specific program requirements.

Discusses program specific courses with student each semester.

Determines course substitutions for classes outside Allied Health department which are not offered online (approved by the program coordinator).

Clears registration advisement holds for first year online B.S. completion students within the department.

Identifies general education and core course equivalents for non-RODP online ALHE majors.

Issues course permit memos via email to RODP office.

Presents unusual requests or questions from individual students to ALHE Program
Coordinator for his consideration and resolution.

Refers online B.S. degree students who wish to continue their educational pursuits beyond the bachelor level degree to Allied Health Sciences Program Coordinator.

Refers students who have question or issues outside ALHE department to specialized university programs.

Updates student advisement sheets each semester with most recent transcript/grade information and provides telephone advisement accordingly.

Contacts upcoming graduates and provides ongoing assistance regarding graduation holds, Senior Exit Exam, “testing out” of particular courses, if permitted, and other graduation requirements as identified by Graduation Analyst.

Completes Major Program Sheets and other related graduation paperwork for graduating
seniors, forwards to ALHE Program Coordinator for his review and approval, and submits to Graduation Office.

Coordinates with Senior Graduation Analyst to ensure all ETSU graduation requirements are met.

Maintains confidential records of student advisement activities.

Tracks program enrollment and related student data for B.S. Online Degree Program
Coordinator and Chair of Allied Health Sciences Department.

Revises and updates advisement forms to reflect new program and curriculum changes as required for online Radiography, Leadership and Cardio programs upon approval of Program Coordinator.

Implements and processes “Change of Major” forms for Radiography, MSAH and B.S. Online Completion Students.
Issues class permits, drop/adds, student registration, late registration for CPSC, RADT, DHYG, B.S. Online Completion, Nutrition and MSAH students as necessary.

Maintains and revises recruitment material for B.S. Online Degree Completion Program to aid Program Coordinator in recruitment efforts to community colleges and other institutions.

Coordinates with Chair and department faculty to prepare schedules for Fall/Spring/Summer.

Builds semester schedule of classes for Radiography, Cardiopulmonary Science, Dental Hygiene, Leadership, Nutrition, and Masters of Allied Health Science Program.

Generates course schedule changes and submits to Registration Office.

Evaluate course transfers from other universities or community colleges.

Description of Job Duty

Provide Radiography program information packets to prospective students.

Answer general radiography questions and direct applicants to on-campus radiography advisor.

Process applications, set up files, and send to on-campus advisor.

Maintain and update database for Radiography Department (Approx. 250 applications/year).

Generate applicant pool; from radiography database for annual interview process.

Contact applicants to determine continued interest in Radiography Program before interviews.

Notify each student in writing of admission status upon completion of interviews (approx. 90-100 candidates interviewed annually).

Reassign applications and files to on-campus radiography advisor after interviews are completed.

Assist radiography students with questions and problems as required during semester.

Generate department reports for Director and Radiography faculty as requested.

Assist Program Director with program related projects and/or assignments as requested.

Each semester, based on SAI scores for (RADT, CPSC, DHYG, Nutrition, ALHE faculty), generate Faculty Evaluation Charts before faculty evaluation deadline; and submit to Chair of Department.

Generate forms/reports from Banner as requested by Chair and faculty of Allied Health Science Department.

Supervise 2-3 student workers each semester.

Assist on front office as required.

Assist with special projects as requested by Chair.

Attend advisement workshops and Banner training sessions regularly.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
