Job Summary

Acts as co-caregiver for a designated group of children, attending to their emotional and physical needs. Maintains daily communication with parents regarding their children. Aides in planning and implements appropriate activities. Assists lead teacher and maintains long-term records on children. Helps design and maintains a stimulating and appropriate physical environment (includes playground). Works cooperatively with team members. Continues to develop as early childhood educator (attends local professional meetings: JCAAYC, NAEYC, TAYC, SAYC, SECA). Attends weekly/monthly staff meetings and other required meetings as scheduled. Consistently maintains children’s daily records and anecdotal/observational assessments. Plans (with lead teacher) and consistently maintains daily/weekly work schedule. Assists college students with involvement with children. Acts as lead caregiver during lead teacher’s absence. Performs other job-related tasks as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • CPR and First Aid skills.
Required Qualifications

At least CDA required or early childhood licensure; BS in early childhood education or related field preferred, Minimum 3-5 years experience.
