Job Summary

This position is responsible to the Office of Financial Aid Processing Coordinator for the execution of all day-to-day required procedures of Federal Financial Aid; the data entry required to process various federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid funds. Processing exception reports as appropriate. Assisting with the daily supervision of student workers and graduate students; and performing other related duties as assigned. Serving as a team mate and co-worker to other members of the processing staff.

Ability to read, understand, and apply federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.

Ability to operate a computer and the Banner system.

Ability to understand and apply simple math.

Ability to work well with other people.

Ability to work with confidential information.

Ability to multitask.

Ability to work in confidential federal, and state systems.

Ability to communicate orally.

Ability to work with interruptions.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent; minimum of two years experience required. Experience working with computers a must.

Code external, institutional, and foundation scholarships into Banner

Code fee discounts and fee waivers into Banner

Code graduate assistantship and tuition scholarships into Banner

Calculate over-award when funds are applied to student account

Calculate R2T4 (return to title IV) returns

Certify eligibility for various state grants and scholarships

Apply alternative loan payments to student accounts

Answer questions concerning any scholarship, fee discount, or waiver that is handled

Return unused funds to donor

Maintain scholarship files

Serves as departmental contact for scholarships
