Job Summary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work productively and efficiently in conformity with departmental standards and procedures. Working knowledge of AACR2, Library of Congress Classification and Subject Headings, MARC formats and OCLC and KeyNotis online cataloging systems. Ability to accurately follow detailed instructions and work independently or with minimal supervision. Ability to perform complex tasks with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to work in a changing environment. Computer knowledge and skills.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma, one to two years of college preferred. One to two years of library technical experience.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty

-Catalog new books, utilizing both online systems, OCLC and KeyNotis.

-Reclassify the Dewey Decimal collection into Library of Congress.

-Add continuations/standing orders to Magellan, manage their physical processing and workflow.

-Maintain departmental inventory.

-Order supplies and equipment for department.

-Creates LC call numbers for Fiction books in the Dewey collection, edit and export records, and process books.

-Repair damaged books.

-Assist with annual book census.
