Job Summary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the materials, methods, and principles used in the performance of HVAC maintenance and repair. * Knowledge of the use, care and maintenance of required tools and equipment both specialized and common. * Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. * Ability to use and operate required tools and equipment. * Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees. * Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and convincingly. * Ability to read and follow specifications and blueprints.
Required Qualifications

HIghi school diploma or GED. 3 years of training, and HVAC certification.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty
  • Reads specifications and blueprints in the performance of work.
  • Inspects air conditioning and heating equipment regularly.
  • Repairs/replaces water pumps, cooling towers, hot water tanks, air pumping, heat exchangers, steam lines, traps, valves, and pneumatic controls.
  • Installs and works closely with manufacturing representative in installing new equipment.
  • Measure tolerances and clearances and adjusts to required specifications.
  • Changes oil and filters/greases and lubricates systems.
  • Receives instructions and ensures that work is started.
  • Demonstrates proper work methods.
  • Ensures the necessary materials, supplies, equipment, plans, tools are available.
  • Assigns and supervises other employees in supervisor’s absence.
  • Evaluates situations and make decisions in supervisors absence.
  • Confers with the higher level supervisor concerning problems with work assignments or personnel.
