Job Summary

Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in operating trucks (1 to 4 ton capacity) to transfer items from one area to another and performing related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of stock inventory control procedures. Ability to operate a forklift and truck. Ability to use reference material and manuals. Ability to attend to detail. Ability to work with numbers and other numerical operations.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma, 2 years of experience, and valid drivers license and fork lift training certificate required.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty

Receives and verifies shipments.

Unloads trucks either by hand or by use of fork life, dollies, carts, etc.

Initiates bid request on large quantities of items.

Initiates order based on knowledge of quantities remaining in bins.

Establishes and controls inventory at remote locations.

Stamps items with stock numbers and places items on shelves or in bins.

Matches invoices and approves payments.

Works issue counter by locating item in storage bins, and by filling out issue ticket when issuing item.

Processes temporary stock items as necessary.

Enters various information in ledgers, forms, blanks, etc.

Assists peronnel identifying or locating numbers on items in catalogs, in bins, on shelves, etc.

Performs annual physical inventory.

Authorizes payment on accounts.

Knowledge of techniques in ordering and maintaining supplies.

Ability to work with numbers and other numerical operations.

Knowledge of stock inventories in shops.

Ability to attend to details.

Ability to use computer for inventory access and assign cost to work orders.

Responsible for Procard documentation with receipts and approvals attached for audit purposes and charge backs.

Monitors emails, pager, and phone for purchase request.
