Job Summary

Employees in this class are under general supervision in the Mini Dome. Work performed in the operation of equipment and tools required to set up basketball court, artificial turf, move bleachers, read and execute floor plan layouts, and tarp floors. Provide Fire Watch duties as required. Provides general supervision to all level 3 workers in the Dome and additional staff for major conversions. Must determine priorities of work and schedules and assigns personnel to accomplish priorities. Coordinates the setting up and cleaning up of projects and events such as workshops, athletic events, concerts, and registration. Serves as liaison to athletics, camps and conferences, and special events for Building Services. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have the ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly and to give and interpret oral and written directions in English. Must have the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the students, the public and other employees. Climbing- ladders, steps, scaffolds. Crawl, bend, twist, squat, and kneel. Lift and pull 50 lbs on a repetitive basis. Ability to read and interpret schematics. Ability to perform all duties in compliance with all applicable safety codes. Ability to operate tow motor and turf machine.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. One to two years experience in maintenance and custodial operations required. Supervisory experience required. Valid driver License required during incumbency. Supervisor is required to obtain fork lift operation certificate within 30 days of appointment and LEAD certification within 2 years.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty

Sweeps,mops,strips, waxes and buffs stairs, corridors and floors.

Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies using vacuum.

Washes windows and walls.

Dusts and polishes furniture and cleans woodwork and surfaces.

Picks up paper and debris on grounds and in buildings.

Empties trash cans, cleans containers and transports trash to disposal area.

Cleans bathroom walls, floors, showers and fixtures, and replenishes bathroom supplies.

Sets up chairs, tables, bleachers and lays floor coverings for special events.

Replaces light bulbs, recycles bulbs and cleans light fixtures.

Cleans blinds, vacuums curtains and removes spider webs.

Washes outside porches and entryways.

Locks and secures doors and windows, turns off lights, sets alarms and clears building of visitors, students or staff.

Shovels snow and salts steps, entrances and walkways.

Blows leaves and debris away from buildings.

Lacquers doors and applies gym finishes.

Makes minor repairs to buildings, and maintains and makes minor repairs to equipment.

Cleans clogged drains and cleans flooded areas.

Moves furniture to clean, and moves furniture and equipment as requested by staff.

Cleans blackboards and erasers.

Removes and disposes of dead rodents.

Uses safety procedures to clean bodily fluids.

Works in other assigned areas as needed.

Makes list of needed supplies.
