High School diploma or GED plus three (3) years secretarial office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty
  • Takes and transcribes routine-to-difficult dictation from notes or machine.
  • Types correspondence, purchase orders, forms, reports, and other documents for Associate Dean’s Office.
  • Enters into Banner class schedules for the Business departments within College and resolves room conflicts within class schedules.
  • Assists in preparation and proofing of catalog copy for College of Business and Technology undergraduate and graduate catalogs.
  • Prepares large mailings of various recruitment letters for Dean’s Office from lists provided by University Admissions or other university offices.
  • Assists in assembling or assembles information for various reports and projects.
  • Composes routine letters and memoranda.
  • Serves as liaison between College and Registrar’s Office pertaining to room reservations for classes as well as various meetings and events.
  • Prepares extra compensation forms for college faculty and staff.
  • Maintains schedules of college-controlled classroom space within Sam Wilson Hall and posts room schedules to college website.
  • Performs updates and corrections to college’s website.
  • Processes part-time and adjunct contracts.
  • Serves as liaison for the Honors-in-Discipline (HID) program for the college and performs HID tasks such as answering emails, preparing and sending probation letters, and maintaining up-to-date list of HID students with grade information.
  • Builds special courses (e.g., honors, internships).
  • Takes minutes at grade appeal hearings, academic misconduct hearings, and various committee meetings.
  • Processes scheduling and paperwork for grade appeal hearings and academic misconduct hearings.
