Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty
  • Assists chairperson with administrative duties such as scheduling classes, monitoring inventory, corresponding with other administrative offices, etc.
  • Prepares and Xeroxs exams as needed for 8 full-time and four to ten part-time instructors and graduate assistants.
  • Monitors department accounts, indirect fund accounts and several grant accounts.
  • Answers department telephone and route calls.
  • Coordinates department advising of majors and minors ( assign student to advisor, notify student by mail of his or her advisor and their office hours, etc.
  • Prepares requisitions for equipment and supplies as necessary.
  • Prepares travel requests and make travel arrangements for faculty.
  • Completes payroll sheets for 50 employees.

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty
  • Sends newsletters and other correspondence to approximately 600 alumni and majors.
  • Orders textbooks for all courses taught in the department as well as desk copies for the instructors.
  • Coordinates and administers Student Assessment of Instruction surveys for 30 or more courses per semester.
  • Maintains files and records for every aspect of the department.
