Job Summary

Employees in this class are under close supervision. Work performed assisting a semi-skilled worker in a variety of semi-skilled maintenance tasks including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry; performing related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the materials and equipment used in general maintenance and construction. * Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Ability to carry out simple oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.
Required Qualifications

Completion of the tenth grade; experience.

Description of Job Duty
  • Assisting semi-skilled Maintenance Utility Worker by helping to remove, replace, or repair light fixtures, switches, and wall plugs that are simple in nature.
  • Assisting a semi-skilled Maintenance Utility Worker by helping unstop drain with plunger.
  • Assisting a semi-skilled Maintenance Utility Worker by helping in simple replacement of plumbing parts and fixtures.
  • Performs a variety of custodial tasks in the maintenance area and other facilities.
