Job Summary

Responsible to the Assistant Vice President for Community Outreach and Applied Research for supervising and maintaining schedules of Assistant Director and Youth Coordinators; developing and maintaining appropriate work sites; monitoring applications to post-secondary schools and track types of certificate and degree programs that participants matriculate in; maintaining and insuring accuracy of participant records and database; preparing reports to funding agency (AB&T) and insuring on-time submission of those reports; conducting weekly tracking of participant progress based on official goals; attending required meetings with AB&T and other Department of Labor officials and assist in preparing additional and subsequent grant applications; and performing other related duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of academic planning and graduation requirements.
  • Knowledge of financial aid requirements and application processes.
  • Knowledge of local labor markets and employment opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with youth and business owners.
  • Ability to motivate youth.
Required Qualifications

B.S. degree required; five years experience working with or case managing youth in youth programs.

  • Prepares grant documents and ensures compliance with grant requirements.
  • Provides work experience and educational planning and monitoring for low income youth.
  • Refers students to educational and community resources.
  • Provides youth leadership training.
  • Assists with work experience placement for WIOA participants.
  • Assesses WIOA participants for educational, social and employment needs.
