Job Summary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of central chilled water systems and associated distribution equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of steam distribution systems preferred.
  • Ability to maintain the refrigerant inventory.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; must possess or acquire within the first six months of employment the EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Vocational certification and two years on the job experience or five years on the job experience as a journeyman or similar experience preferred.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty
  • Maintains HVAC equipment, HVAC controls, and refrigeration system.
  • Repairs and/or replaces compressors and components as necessary.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates and replaces pneumatic controls, electric controls and DDC control systems.
  • Performs periodic maintenance and sets up preventative maintenance as required.
  • Uses specialized test equipment, power tools, precision measuring tools, plumber’s tools, and common hand tools.
  • Orders parts and supplies.
  • Operates company vehicle.
  • Maintains boiler control systems.
