Job Summary

Works under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Director of University Career Services to organize office outreach programs on and off campus; support employer services and promote effective career development opportunities for students. Responsibilities include assisting the Director in coordinating employer outreach and involvement strategy, including programs that engage employers with student groups and involve alumni in student mentoring; coordinating programs with academic departments and other offices; planning educational and experiential opportunities that increase student career skills and the ability to apply them in a job search; managing career services software to maintain job and resume postings, and analyze data on student and alumni utilization; and, performing other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage details and implement multiple projects effectively.
Ability to delegate to others, and work as an effective team member.
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups, while demonstrating empathy for others.
Technical ability in office management and business suite software.

Required Qualifications

Masters degree in education, counseling, or student affairs.

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of student career services functions including employer and campus outreach.

Experience in planning and implementing events.

Demonstrated success in presenting career development programs to students, and in the use of employer job listing/management systems.

Experience with student career development software and programs.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty

1. Develops an employer program consistent with professional guidelines and best practices.
2. Engages employers in student career development programs on campus.
3. Assists in visiting employers at their place of business.
4. Maintains BucLink to ensure accurate listing of current job openings and student/alumni resumes.
5. Develops instructional material for FYE courses with emphasis on Focus2 and assists in the development of career education programs for all students.
6. Works with the Alumni Office to develop alumni success video program.
7. Assists in collection, analysis and reporting of data related to University Career Services programs and overall effectiveness.
8. Assists in the maintenance and continuous improvement of web site.
