Job Summary

The Director of Field Education, MSW Program, reports to the Department Chair and is responsible for managing the operation of field education programming in an established MSW program, accredited by the Council of Social Work Education, activities to include recruitment and development of field sites and agency based field instructors, development of policies and procedures where by students are assigned internships, and other functions directly related to the administration of field education.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from CSWE accredited program; two years post-MSW professional social work practice; eligibility for LMSW licensure in the State of Tennessee.

  • Maintains all aspects of field curriculum and ensures compliance with CSWE accreditation standards.
  • Places students in appropriate field settings as needed.
  • Develops and maintains field curriculum/placements.
  • Ensures appropriate training and qualifications of field faculty (task supervisors and field instructors).
