Required Qualifications

Master’s degree required; 2 years experience in administration in a sports organization required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science preferred; understanding and experience in working as a coach in the Strength and Conditioning area at a NCAA D1 level preferred.

Job Duties

These are the job duties required of the position.

Description of Job Duty

1. Maintains responsibility to the Director of the Center of Excellence for Sport Science and Coach Education (CESSCE) to provided assistance with the management of the CESSCE and the Olympic Training Site (OTS).
2. Supervises the interns during the year (Spring, Summer, Fall).
3. Organizes and supervises all visiting faculty from other Universities.
4. Teaches one online class during the 1st Summer School Term contributing to the CESSCE budget.
5. Plans and organizes all conferences and clinics; conducts surveys at the closure of these conferences.
6. Designs and implements marketing plans for events and overall exposure of the Center and OTS.
7. Supervises and organizes Annual Coaches College.
8. Supervises and organizes in-service and professional development opportunities with the local school systems.
9. Partners with faculty and staff to develop the Long Term Athlete Development and Community Olympic Development programs.
10. Develops partnerships with local businesses for sport promotion and program building.
11. Supervises responsibilities for the overall budget in the department and reports budget status to Director.
12. Keeps updated data on athletic scholarships and stipulations for athletes.
13. Purchases supplies, etc. for athletes and related events of the ETSU Weightlifting Team.
14. Organizes housing and dining for athletes visiting the OTS.

2. Makes appointments and travel arrangements.
3. Monitors and maintains inventory, supplies, forms and other materials.
4. Initiates ordering processes.
5. Develops and maintains a filing system.
6. Performs standard to moderately complex research by collecting and analyzing information and assists in preparing comprehensive reports.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
