Job Summary

Position contingent on outside funding.

Responsible to the Associate Dean for planning educational programming that identifies professional practice gaps in healthcare providers in the region; developing educational content that corrects the competency gap of providers and measures outcomes to determine whether competencies have been achieved through a variety of live and on-line educational activities; working with partnering organizations and agencies throughout the state, e.g. health systems, universities, colleges and healthcare organizations as well as state, regional and local agencies; and performing other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of ACCME requirements. Knowledge of development of accredited CME programs. Knowledge of physician education and training requirements. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of College of Medicine departments and curriculum offerings Knowledge of marketing techniques Knowledge of computers and various software programs. Knowledge of external funding sources. Ability to use critical analysis skills Ability to problem solve effectively Ability to work with a minimum of supervision Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Ability to function well in a highly detailed environment Ability to handle stress and work well under pressure Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to maintain effective working relationships with various constituents Ability to evaluate situations and make sound, independent decisions Ability to speak before large audiences Ability to maintain accurate files and records Ability to understand and implement accreditation guidelines

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications, and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in health sciences, health education, public health, business or healthcare management highly preferred. Two years of experience in healthcare administration or closely related profession highly preferred. Experience in project management and planning. Experience in curriculum development and outcomes assessment, and/or experience as a trainer/educator in a healthcare setting. Public speaking experience.
