Job Summary

Position is available in the ETSU Family Physicians of Kingsport Residency Program. Daily duties involves a variety of tasks in an ambulatory health care setting, including assisting in all aspects of clinical care, administering injections, performing EKG’s, gathering specimens, assisting with special procedures and general workups, and performing other related non-professional nursing and clerical duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

-Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of nursing.
-Ability to utilize electronic health record system for accomplishing daily tasks. -Ability to communicate effectively with patients, supervisors, physicians, and co-workers both orally and in writing.
-Ability to communicate professionally via telephone with pharmacies, providers, and community agencies as needed.
-Ability to effectively communicate patient needs to providers.
-Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and guidelines.
-Ability to handle all patient information responsibly.
-Ability to adhere to and apply all university, college, department, and clinic policies and procedures.
-Knowledge of accepted nursing/CMA standards and practices.
-Knowledge of medical terminology. -Knowledge of basic pharmacology.
-Basic computer skills.
-Skilled in providing patient care in accordance with the facility’s applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
-Ability to maintain quality control standards.
-Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
-Ability to pay attention to details.
-Ability to apply time management principles in order to accomplish assigned duties.
-Ability to behave professionally at all times and present a positive image of the facility.

Required Qualifications

High school graduate; LPN or RN required; Verification of Hepatitis B immunization and current CPR card required.
