Job Summary

The Faculty Fellow in the Center for Teaching Excellence will work with the Director of the CTE to develop programming to achieve the goals of the center, provide individual consultations to ETSU faculty who are seeking advice and expertise to improve their teaching, and provide guidance and support to faculty in the scholarship of teaching and learning. The faculty fellow will also assist with the development of artifacts and materials for the online resource center and occasionally author teaching tips designed and distributed by the CTE.

Job Duties:
•Develops and delivers instructional development programs
•Provides direct consultation to faculty in the areas of course development, course assessments,
•Serves on the CTE advisory committee
•Develops artifacts and materials for the instructional resource center
•Occasionally authors the CTE’s weekly teaching tips
•Provides guidance and support to faculty in the scholarship of teaching and learning

The Faculty Fellow is required to devote 10 hours per week to the Center for Teaching Excellence on a 12-month basis. The fellow will have a two-year appointment, renewable one time. The fellowship will provide an annual stipend of $7,000.

•Ability to develop and deliver instructional development workshops
•Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning
•Ability to design and conduct research in the scholarship of teaching and learning
•Ability to work collaboratively with faculty from diverse academic backgrounds
•Ability to design and conduct faculty development activities
•Ability to use instructional technology to improve student learning

Required Qualifications

The Faculty Fellowship position is open to full-time ETSU faculty with the following qualifications:
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Significant college level teaching experience and evidence of effective teaching
•Experience designing and conducting instructional development activities
•Terminal degree required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with designing research focused on instructional strategies to optimize student learning

Salary $7,000 stipend
