Job Summary

The Department of Literature and Language at East Tennessee State University is seeking a qualified individual to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of Rhetoric and Composition. Responsibilities of this position are to direct our Composition program which includes supervising composition instructors; leading Composition Workshops; and running an assessment of student writing.

9-month contract. Research and service expectations as noted in the T&P guidelines (http://www.etsu.edu/senate/facultyhandbook/colldept/collarts.aspx).

ETSU is a comprehensive state university serving the region of the Appalachian Mountains.

Start date August 15, 2018.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Applicants should demonstrate expertise in Rhetoric and Composition through academic research, service, and teaching.

Required Qualifications

Accepting applicants with Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or Ph.D. in English, or related field with an emphasis on Rhetoric and Composition.

Ph.D. requirements must be completed by employment start date.

Experience with First-Year College Writing Program.

Preferred Qualifications

Administrative experience in First-Year College Writing Program.

Salary $47,000
