Job Summary

Position involves a variety of tasks in a complex office setting including: interpersonal communications with individuals of diverse backgrounds; skills in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks for oneself and work of others; receive, direct, and assist visitors and incoming phone calls; screen visitors and calls; maintain files and confidentiality; opening, sorting and distributing mail; help research policies and ensure appropriate procedures are established to comply; management of student workers and appropriate time sheets; preparing and entering travel documents; course building as required; provide written and oral information in response to inquiries; skill in use of business English; assist in solving problems for students, faculty, staff, and the public; assist with marketing of Engineering program; coordinate and implement departmental exit exam; multi-tasking skills required; and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of office procedures and equipment; skill in using word processing software applications; skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including personal computers, fax machines, telephones and copiers; ability to effectively communicate; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks; must be able to function independently and respond in a timely manner to provide assistance; ability to work in a University setting.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED plus three years of clerical/secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants with a college degree must have at least 1 year of secretarial experience. Experience with computers and software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-functional, fast-paced office environment required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education. Working knowledge of Banner (SSB, INB & Finance), TRS, eBucs and current University Policies and Procedures preferred.

Salary $22,130 - $24,745
